Deputy Minister of National Education Ömer Faruk Yelkenci met with Albania's Deputy Minister of Education, Sports, and Youth, Nina Guga, in Albania.

 

During the bilateral meeting held at the Albanian Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth, cooperation between Türkiye and Albania in the field of education was discussed.

 

Referring to the historical and cultural ties between Albania and Türkiye, Yelkenci emphasized that the teaching of Turkish language in the Albanian education system and Albanian language as an elective course in the Turkish education system significantly contributes to the development of cultural, linguistic, and historical ties among students from both countries.

 

Deputy Minister Ömer Faruk Yelkenci and Director General for European Union and Foreign Relations Tuba Korkmaz attended the graduation ceremony held at the University of New York Tirana, affiliated with the Turkish Maarif Foundation in Albania.

 

At the ceremony attended by official representatives of the Republic of Albania, Yelkenci delivered the opening speech and congratulated the graduating students.

 

As part of their visit to Albania, Yelkenci and Korkmaz visited the Turkish Maarif Foundation's kindergarten, primary, and secondary schools, as well as the TIKA Tirana Program Coordination Office and the Tirana Yunus Emre Institute Office.
